Hello, I’m Tony.

I am an experienced teacher of all areas of English, teaching English to professional adults and young leaners for the last 29 years.

• After a career in management, I discovered my passion for teaching while travelling in Asia in the mid 1990s. I returned to the UK, retrained and obtained my CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Adults). After qualifying I went back to Asia and taught in schools in Malaysia and Indonesia.
• I then taught at a language school in Worcester, UK for 18 years. I qualified with mt DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Adults) in 20004. I began my online teaching business in 2018 and decided to go full time when the school closed after the COVID pandemic.
• Most of my students are looking for general English improvement. I can support you in making progress fast. Whether you need English at school, university or are preparing for an important English examination, my lessons are created specifically for you and your needs.
• I teach all levels and abilities and have successfully helped thousands of students to increase their fluency, confidence and ability in English.

Business English

• I have 6 years business management experience. In my first career I was a Senior Manager in the UK Rail network and was the Customer Service Development Manager for the largest UK passenger train company. For this reason I really enjoy teaching English for Business.

• With my expertise I can help you to perfect presentations, projects, participate in meetings and conduct successful negotiations. I can assist you in preparing for interviews in English, using English for business travel, or in social or cultural situations, or any other aspect of business.
• I was runner up in 2014 in the EBET, Excellence in Business English Teaching award, A UK wide Business English teaching competition.

I am always happiest when I am outdoors. I am a keen runner, walker and trekker and have a passion for cycling. From climbing Kilimanjaro to running the London Marathon and cycling the length of the UK, I have always enjoyed sport and exercise.

And of course, being English, you’ll always find me enjoying a cup of tea!
